Meet Diana

Diana Capellán, MPA is a stay-at-home mom in Westport, raising two children, ages 4 and 7. Over the past seven years, she’s focused on family life while nurturing her passion for service and community.

Before stepping into full-time motherhood, Diana built a career in program management, impact evaluation, and social entrepreneurship.

Diana uses AI to design her home landscaping projects: matching plants to their ideal sun and water needs, selecting combinations that thrive together, and even visualizing how the garden will look once it’s complete.

“Take photos of the yard you want to transform, then snap pictures of plants you love at the nursery. Upload everything to ChatGPT, and it will analyze whether the plants will thrive in your specific garden conditions—factoring in clues like lighting and soil from your images. Even better? It will suggest smarter alternatives and generate before-and-after mockups of your design ideas"

How AI Changed Her Routine

Before AI, landscaping projects meant expensive consultations, hours of research, and frustrating trial-and-error. Now, Diana simply photographs her yard and plants, then consults ChatGPT, transforming a once-daunting task into something joyful, accessible, and budget-friendly.

Her Advice to Women Exploring AI

“Start small—and don’t be afraid to let AI be your co-designer. Snap photos of your yard, bring back images of plants you love, and ask ChatGPT if they’ll work in your space. You’ll be amazed how much it can infer from lighting and soil alone. And if something doesn’t work? AI will offer creative alternatives you may never have considered. It’s a conversation—the more you ask, the smarter it gets.”
